Presentation<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

My journey in the world of pedigree dogs began in 2005 when I got my first Italian Greyhound. I had always been interested in breeding and therefore it was only natural for me to consider starting my own breeding. My first Italian Greyhound litter was born in 2008. Over the years I have been actively involved in our Finnish breed club. By 2025 I have bred 14 Italian Greyhound litters, and in 2020 the Finnish Sighthound Club awarded me with a breeders' prize for my work for the benefit of the breed.<\/mark> In 2018 I was qualified as an FCI judge and I occasionally judge group 10 breeds.<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After some setbacks and changes in life, I started to look for another breed. I had been admiring the Japanese Shiba for some years, and in 2020 I bought my first Shiba from Russia. Since then I have imported dogs from Belgium and Croatia. Despite their many differences, the Shiba has its appeal even in the eye of a sighthound enthusiast! In 2023 I fulfilled another long-time dream of mine \u2014 a Silken Windhound. Silkens are quite unique, and I've grown fond of them. Right now I am taking a break from Italian Greyhound breeding and plan on focusing on Shibas and Silkens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Silken Windhounds, I consider the most important current priority as working to preserve and promote genetic diversity. The breed\u2019s population is small, so breeding choices must be made with an emphasis on health and diversity. Outcrosses remain essential for strengthening the breed\u2019s foundation. Every Silken can be valuable for the breed\u2019s future, so anyone considering the breed should commit to breed-specific health testing and be prepared for possible breeding use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am involved with Shibas on a small scale, with the goal of breeding a small, well-structured, health-tested, sound-moving, lively, and active Japanese hunting dog that is pleasant to live with. The Shiba suffers from the challenges of a small population, and to promote overall health, breeding should make use of a wide variety of different bloodlines. Anyone purchasing a Shiba should commit to breed-specific health testing to help gather information on the health of different blood lines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I work at an upper secondary school as a teacher of mathematics, physics, English and Swedish. Dogs take up a large part of my free time, but I also enjoy spending time in nature, photography, interior design, playing the clarinet, birdwatching, and spending time at cottage. Once a year, I try to take a trip somewhere exotic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
