Well now it’s ok to say: the preparation could’ve been more thorough. In the beginning of June I had the feeling that Taikuri wasn’t quite in the best possible shape to compete. And right I was. In the track racing competition in Virpiniemi on the 19th of July Taikuri participated in 280 meters finishing with 23,58 second which was nearly a second slower than his times from last season. After stopping at the lure he was completely exhausted and clearly was not feeling well, so I withdrew him from any further competition. Anyway that time earned him his last qualifying CAC for the working championship title, thus making him a brand new Finnish Working Champion on track! I just hope that the season will get better as he’s supposed to debute in lure coursing derby in July. Obviously before that he needs some muscle care and gentle exercise.
